About Boulder Canyon Bears
Boulder Canyon Bears is owned by Rick and Vicky Wieczorek. Rick creates the art and
Vicky assists and supports his efforts, not to mention help out with the business end of things. We are
located in the beautiful Black Hills of South Dakota; in an area called, coincidentally, Boulder Canyon.
Rick learned the art of carving in Washington State. After learning from a master-craftsman in the art of chainsaw carving, he has perfected his own craftsmanship and versatility. The Black Hills provide tremendous inspiration along with an abundant supply of materials when needed. Below you will find images of Benny the Bear's birth. These illustrate some of the steps taken by Rick in transforming a broken tree into a fine, master-fisherman of a bear. You can see, not only Benny's fishing pole, but a good days catch. | |
